Many of you have probably heard this phrase that I’m about to share with you before today. I may have heard it before too – but one of the benefits of getting older is that if you’ve forgotten something – then it’s like hearing it for the first time!!!
It also helps if you can laugh about it!!!
So here it is – - – Yesterday is history…….Tomorrow is a mystery…….and Today is a GIFT……that’s why they call it the PRESENT!!!
We heard that most recently on a sports broadcast from none other than Coach Mike Ditka. He might be retired but when he gets excited – as he is prone to do – his old coaching habits bring out some words of wisdom.
One of our friends heard it used in a sermon and I’m sure it’s been used in many other venues. It made us stop and think. Sometimes it’s the simplest or most basic things that can make a strong impression on us. We need to pick up these golden nuggets along the pathway of life – wherever we find them – and allow them to help shape our attitudes, our personalities and our way of seeing life.
After we have done the best we can within this Present day – it’s good to know that the mysteries of all our Tomorrows are PRESENTS just waiting to be unwrapped like new GIFTS for each new day. There is no guarantee of course that Tomorrow will come but when it does – we should treat it as a GIFT or as a PRESENT!!!
Someone else looked at this same idea from another perspective. They observed that – - – Yesterday is a cancelled check……Today is cash on hand……and Tomorrow is a promissory note.
Now there are several different ways of approaching this specific view of life. For one thing – promises can be broken and I’m sure there have been plenty of promissory notes that never got paid on time if ever at all. That’s why there IS some mystery connected with Tomorrow. If it does come ….. we can’t really be sure if we will collect what we expect to.
I’m sure many of us have also heard Carpe’ Diem – seize the day!!! So just like any PRESENT or GIFT – we should treasure each day and want to hold on to it and enjoy it cause we can’t get it back once it is gone. Our days do not come equipped with a  DO OVER!!!
So right about now you may be asking yourself what this Blog is doing on a Network Marketing site or thinking to yourself – what’s the point here???
Well surprise – there is no hook or hidden message or capture page or splash page connected to this one. It’s a Gift – a Present  from us to you. A brief time for reflection or meditation or perhaps a prayer of thanksgiving as we consider all the GIFTS and PRESENTS of days gone by.
Today the TV, radio and newspapers are full of gloomy news and negativity. You would think that there was nothing in this world to be happy about – but – we know that Tomorrow is both a mystery and a promissory note and the possibilities are unlimited so lets go out and seize the day – Carpe’ Diem!!!
IF these few minutes here have given you some encouragement or expanded your thinking about Yesterday – Today and Tomorrow – then we are thankful.
And of course we hope you come back again or better yet subscribe to our site on the tab for RSS Feed so we can share with you again real soon.
God Bless You
